Golf Scramble

 

 

This year’s Dickinson Area Chamber Alliance Annual Golf Scramble fundraiser was held on June 8, 2017.

The weather was almost perfect – just a quick cloudburst of rain and then it was back to the fun.

This year’s title sponsor was Orbit Technology. This is the eleventh year that generous businesses and organizations have supported the local youth by volunteering their time, underwriting scholarships, sponsoring the event and donating prizes for the annual fundraiser.  Over the past eleven years 35 scholarships have been given for a value of $18,000 through the event.

This year’s scholarships were awarded to students planning to pursue a degree in the welding field at Bay College West Campus beginning in the Fall 2017 semester.  The scholarships were provided by BOSS Products, a division of the Toro Company and The Iron Mountain Builders Exchange.

Scholarship awards were presented to Wyatt Witte and Aleesha Carlson.  Wyatt is a 2017 graduate of Kingsford High School and Aleesha is a 2017 graduate of North Dickinson County High School.

Many of our golf scramble participants walked away with prizes. Bob Peterson was the winner of  a Century Arms Canik 9mm.  Thad Yaeger was the winner of a Philips 50” Smart TV.  Jim Rice was the winner of the watch from Erickson Jewelry and chose the women’s watch to give to his wife.

Team Orbit Technology won the “Top Flight” Award and will have their names printed on the trophy that will be kept in the TimberStone Golf Course Clubhouse.  Members included Gary Unrein, Brock Payette, Joe LeMire and Hunter Eichhorn.  Each member also won a Cleveland Wedge golf club.

Proceeds from this event are used to manage member benefits and develop new programs and materials to further our mission to enhance the quality of life in our community by supporting and promoting economic growth. This fundraiser has also allowed for the Dickinson Area Chamber Alliance to not increase our membership dues for the past 12 years.
