Exotic animals rescued from difficult situations will visit the library for patrons to view and pet. Presenters will teach us about animal conservation and care, and describe Kingdom Animalia Exotic Animal Rescue (KAEAR) in De Pere, Wisconsin. KAEAR accepts reptiles, amphibians, birds, small animals, invertebrates, and many more types of exotic animals. Visit www.KAEAR.org for more information. We’ll learn together through trial, error, and observation to build the perfect parachute and safely float our cargo to the ground. Children in grades 2 and up are invited to challenge themselves at this program: younger children can work together with siblings or other attendees to build the perfect parachute, while tweens and teens tweak their designs for speed and accuracy! This program is sponsored by Hall Orthodontics and the Norway-Vulcan Women’s Club.

Explore the secret language of music at this free concert for families by the Bergonzi String Quartet,—Main Branch in Iron Mountain as part of the Pine Mountain Music Festival. This family-oriented performance by the world-renowned Bergonzi String Quartet will demonstrate how the hidden elements of sound transform and shape the musical messages that make us feel different emotions. Refreshments will follow the concert. Refreshments are sponsored by the Friends of the Dickinson County Library.

Families and patrons of all ages are invited to Watch & Play Day! Board and card games will be available for players of any age, with the movie showing, Summer Wars, showing at 11 AM. This anime film features everyday heroes who must win games against an artificial intelligence to save the day! Visit the library just for the movie showing, or play some games and take a break during the film! Summer Wars is rated PG-13. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Dickinson County Library.

DACB is a concert band open to adult instrumental musicians and high school students who have been nominated by their school directors.  This year DCAB is celebrating 50 years!

Nearly 60 artists and craftsmen from across the country will exhibit at this juried art show. There will be live entertainment all day as well as food and beverage vendors. A hands-on craft area will be available for children and adults. The event, held rain or shine, will offer the chance to win door prizes and it is free to the public.
